(HAYASHI-Bunto 京都 1882-1966)「舟渡御」(天神祭)
尺八立 物故作家掛軸
◇日本の大阪で開催される天神祭は、日本で最も有名で歴史的な祭りの一つです。
毎年7月24日と25日に祝われ、天満宮に祀られている学問と学問の神、菅原道真を祭ります。
船渡御行列は、7月25日夜に大阪の天神祭のハイライト、
神を乗せた本船を含む数百隻の船が大川を流れ落ちる壮大な光景です。

林文塘は山元春挙という大家の弟子で山水画を得意とした京絵の作家ですが、大阪の風物も好んでよく描きました。
貴重な日本画材料をふんだんに使い、表装は豪華な大振りの天神梅を印金で描かれた希少な作品です。

◇The Tenjin Matsuri, held in Osaka, Japan, is one of the country’s most famous and historic festivals, dating back over a thousand years. Celebrated every year on July 24th and 25th, it honors Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of scholarship and learning, enshrined at the Tenmangu Shrine.
The Funatogyo, or boat procession, is a highlight of the Tenjin Matsuri in Osaka, held on the evening of July 25th. It is a grand spectacle where hundreds of boats, including the main boat carrying the deity, float down the Okawa River.
